Biodynamics at Château Fonplégade begins beneath our feet, where roots reach deep and microorganisms stir, nourishing everything above. Here, vines grow among wildflowers, insects, birds and other animals, each moving to the same natural rhythm. Guided by Corinne and Jean-Michel Comme, we listen to the seasons, nurture the the earth, and care for this living landscape, where every element plays a part and every vintage begins with the life of the soil.

A Circle of Life

The vineyard is embraced by forest and woven with hedgerows, gardens, and natural habitats. Sheep wander among the vines, bees drift from flower to flower, chickens forage nearby, and our small cattle herd enriches the vitality of the soils. Plants gathered from our own land become botanical preparations for the vines, while traditional horn manure preparations are returned to the earth to nourish the life beneath our feet. Everything moves in a continuous circle. What the land gives to us, we give back to it.
